“We had a wonderful experience! The staff were extremely kind and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable right away. We also went on a walk through a beautiful nature reserve with our guide, Arturo. He was such a cheerful and enthusiastic person, and his positive energy really made the experience even more enjoyable. We truly had a great time and would definitely recommend it!”
“Lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Lorraine the chef who did the ‘origins’ breakfasts was great and explained all the authentic dishes well. It was lovely to have an option different to the eggs and bacon etc. the hotel is in a quiet area which I enjoyed. There are lots of walks nearby and a bus that stops right outside the hotel. There are a lot of families but also an adults only pool which is quieter. I was out most days but many people seemed to enjoy the hotel enough to stay every day. The room was wonderful with a wraparound balcony. Would stay again!”
“I was not sure how to rate this hotel. We had ajoining rooms on the non Royal Level. Therefore I would say at best this is a 4 star hotel. We asked for higher floor rooms in a quiet location as it was our honeymoon. We got given floor 1 facing main pool ! Once I had fixed the patio doors they were reasonably quiet ( the doors had pulled out of the frames so noise was coming in). Any room nearer the entertainment area is going to get noise until about 22.30. Rooms were big and well equipped but one had the door issue and a towel rail that kept falling off the wall. The hotel did fix a flickering bulb quickly. Rooms are a little tired but cleaned everyday to a good standard. Food is served in Drago self serve restaurant. Breakfast was good with huge selection but not always everything was available. Similar for evening buffet, plenty of choice. In both cases the food was pretty bland and of varying quality - but if careful with your choices it was OK. I still can't accept any 5 star hotel has a buffet for evening meal but it seems to be the way of holiday style hotels today. The staff we interacted with were all very nice and helpful. Evening entertainment was typical holiday fair. Some a good laugh and the acrobats were incredible. Some of the singers were interesting! Only one pool was heated so it got a bit busy finding beds but the other pools were fine and it's not far to walk. The hotel is located in a windy spot and seems to be designed as a wind tunnel. Early in our week it got too strong to sensibly stay by the pool - not the hotels fault but worth bearing in mind. Once the calima hit and wind stopped it was great. Location is OK with good walks in either direction to local bars and restaurants. Overall it was fine but probably wouldn't come back.”
